ENERGY EFFICIENCY SMALL BUSINESS PROGRam
Real estate firm makes REAL SAVINGS
A suburban real estate office in Sydney has saved more than $1,000 off its electricity bill in one year, after changing office lighting through a NSW Government program for small businesses. The Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program helps small business lower power bills and cut carbon pollution. The Program is run by the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water NSW (DECCW). Tracy Roberts Real Estate, in Greystanes, Western Sydney, upgraded 26 lights and light fittings, including 13 lights in the front window. DECCW contributed more than $3,000 towards these energy efficiency changes. The changes together with other simple actions, such as turning office lights off overnight, have saved the business $1,021 a year off its electricity bills.
Small businesses with a power bill of about $20,000 or less and 10 employees or less are offered 50 per cent of costs, up to $5,000, for making energy efficiency improvements. The business pays an initial $75 or $150 (depending on the size of their power bill).
Small businesses can register for the Program by going to savepower.nsw.gov.au/business or contact Limelight Illuminations for an on-site visit to assess your current lighting and offer suitable retro-fit options available to your business or strata building . Phone 1300 733 010
The Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program is part of the NSW Government's $150 million Energy Efficiency Strategy that is helping households, businesses and public facilities lower power bills and reduce our impact on the environment.
